How esports betting works
Esports betting means placing bets on the results of professional video game competitions. Just like cricket or football, two teams or players face each other in a specific game, and the bettor decides which side will win, how many maps they will win, or who will reach a certain objective first.
To bet on esports at 25 takabet, first open an account, then go to the esports section. You will see a list of ongoing or upcoming tournaments. Choose a match, select a market, enter your stake, and add it to the bet slip. Each market shows odds alongside it — the higher the odds, the higher the potential return, but the chance of winning is generally lower.
The number of esports viewers and players in Bangladesh is growing fast. Many young people in Dhaka now regularly follow international CS2 and Valorant tournaments and bet on them at 25 takabet to stay more engaged. Remember, betting is purely for entertainment — never bet beyond your budget.
Popular esports markets
The six most used betting markets at 25 takabet, with a simple example for each.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which of the two teams will win. For example, in a CS2 match between Team A and Team B, if you bet on Team A and Team A wins, your bet is successful.
Map Handicap
In CS2 or Valorant, when one team is clearly stronger, the weaker team is given a 1.5-map advantage. Team B +1.5 means that even if Team B loses 0-2, that bet still wins.
First Blood / First Kill
A bet on which team gets the first kill in Dota 2 or League of Legends. It focuses on the opening moments of the match, which is why it is popular in live betting.
Total Rounds
Predict whether the total number of rounds in a CS2 match will be above or below a set number. For example, Over 25.5 means the match will have 26 or more rounds in total.
Tournament Winner
A bet on which team will be champion before the whole tournament begins. Placing this bet early usually gives relatively better odds.
Pistol Round Winner
In CS2, the first round of each half — the pistol round — can be bet on separately. It often sets the pace for the rest of the map.
Odds formats: understanding three methods together
Esports betting odds are shown in three formats. All three express the same probability — only the way they are written differs. Use the example below to understand all three together.
Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125
If Team A wins, the return is ৳2,250 (profit ৳1,250 + original stake ৳1,000). If Team A loses, ৳1,000 is gone.
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400
If Team B wins, the return is ৳1,250 (profit of only ৳250). American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100 — here ৳400.
| Format | Format | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | You get back 2.25 times your stake |
| Fractional | 5/4 | ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked |
| American (+) | +125 | Profit of 125 on a stake of 100 |
| American (−) | -400 | A stake of 400 is needed to profit 100 |
25 takabet generally shows decimal format by default, but to learn more about betting methods, see the 25 takabet betting guide page.
Pre-match vs live betting
Both methods have their own characteristics — understand which one to choose and when.
Pre-Match Betting
- Bets are placed before the match starts
- Odds are set in advance and stay fixed
- You can take your time to check team form and lineup
- Tournament winner and map handicap markets are available here
- Better suited for newcomers
Live Betting
- Bets can be placed in real time while the match is in progress
- Odds change quickly — with every round
- Instant markets like first kill or pistol round are available
- Decisions can be made while watching the live stream
- More appealing for experienced bettors
Odds in pre-match betting are generally a bit more stable. In live betting, odds shift quickly, so each decision needs a bit more focus. Use both methods as part of your entertainment — there is no guaranteed profit strategy.
Useful tips and common mistakes
To enjoy esports betting, there are some basic things to keep in mind. The points below are relevant for both new and experienced bettors.
- Start with one game. CS2, Dota 2 or Valorant — whichever game you play or watch yourself, its markets are easier to understand.
- Set a budget. Decide in advance how much you will bet per session. Stay within that limit.
- Be careful with multi bets. In a three-selection multi bet (for example decimal 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.32), one wrong pick loses the entire bet.
- Watch for lineup changes. In esports, a sudden player swap or sub-in can have a big impact on the result.
- Do not chase losses with bigger bets. Placing a large bet emotionally to recover a loss is the most common mistake. Treat each bet independently.
- Bet responsibly. Betting is for entertainment only. Read the Responsible Gaming page to learn about rules and limits.
- Placing large bets on games you are not familiar with
- Betting only on the favourite — lower odds mean lower returns
- Placing bets quickly without understanding the live odds
- Using multiple accounts — this is against the site's rules
